Thor Rixon is a South African filmmaker living between Berlin & Cape Town.

Working across directing, cinematography, editing, sound design and colour grading, he brings a holistic, hands-on approach to every project. As a full-package filmmaker, he’s involved in every stage of the process, crafting work that is as emotionally resonant as it is visually refined.

His portfolio spans commercials and narrative films in both Germany and South Africa, with brand collaborations including Diodora, MCM, Dawn Denim and Adidas. Whether working with clients or developing independent work, Thor’s grounded, cinematic style is defined by a sensitivity to natural light, authentic moments and emotional nuance. He works instinctively with each setting to uncover beauty and depth within the frame. At the core of his practice is a commitment to feeling; creating visual worlds that move beyond aesthetics to leave a lasting emotional impact.
